Sugar Land is quiet compared with the corridors closer to the Loop, so the useful hours are specific. Pool season runs from Memorial Day into September and draws non-residents into HOA amenity centers after dark. Office and medical buildings need coverage in the hour after the last tenant leaves and before the cleaning crew is gone. Retail wants Thursday through Sunday evenings and the stretch from Thanksgiving to the new year. Concert and game nights at Smart Financial Centre and Constellation Field fill the nearby lots and garages, and the neighboring properties notice. Hurricane season, June through November, brings gate failures, dark parking lots and downed fences that need a person on site until power and repairs arrive.

Officers log rounds, gate activity, vehicles and contacts, and the daily report reaches you the next morning. When something happens, an incident report follows the same day.
