Answer
How is a security guard's performance reviewed?
By Price Protection SecurityReviewed TX DPS Lic #B09430601
Short answer
Every day. A Price Protection supervisor reads each officer's daily activity report against the post orders, checks the guard tour record where the client has one, reviews any incident reports, and documents the review. A missed round, a thin report or a checkpoint never mentioned is addressed with the officer the next day, not at renewal. The client sees the same report, which keeps everyone honest.

Why the review is daily
Security work goes wrong quietly. A round skipped at three in the morning, a report that says “all quiet” on a night that was not, a gate log with gaps: none of it is visible to the client until something happens, and by then the pattern is months old. Reading the report every day catches the pattern on the first night. Price Protection has reviewed and documented officer performance daily since it began, and it is one of the three commitments, consistency, that the company was founded on.
What the supervisor looks at
The daily activity report, entry by entry, against the post orders: were the rounds made at the interval, were the checkpoints covered, were the closings done at the posted hour, were the calls answered and resolved, were the findings reported. The guard tour record, where the property has one, to confirm the rounds were where the report says. Any incident report, for completeness and for tone. The client’s messages overnight. And the report itself as a document: is it specific, timed and factual, or vague.
What happens with the findings
A conversation with the officer the next day, documented. A pattern that repeats is a change of post or of officer. A pattern across officers is a problem with the post orders, and the orders change. Good work is noted too, because officers who write specific, useful reports are the ones clients ask for by name, and the review is how supervisors know who they are.
What the client sees
The same report the supervisor reads, every morning, and an incident report the same day anything happens. Clients are encouraged to read them and to tell dispatch when a report does not match what they know; that feedback is part of the review. The daily reviews article explains why the practice produces better officers, and the reading a daily report article shows a manager what to look for.
